The IELTS test is divided into four sections

  • IELTS stands for International English Language Testing System. It is a globally recognized English language test accepted by universities, employers, and immigration authorities in many English-speaking countries.

IELTS is a trusted and impartial way to measure your English skills — helping you move forward with your plans to study, work, or settle abroad.

Why Take the IELTS Test?

  • ✅ Accepted by institutions and governments in countries like the UK, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, and more.
✅ Required for student visas, skilled migration, and job applications.
✅ A reliable way to assess your English proficiency for academic or professional purposes.

IELTS Test Format

  • The IELTS test is divided into four sections that assess all key language skills:

    1. Listening (30 Minutes)
    • Tests your ability to understand spoken English

    • 40 questions across 3 parts

    • Includes conversations and monologues

    • Multiple-choice and short answer questions

    2. Reading (60 Minutes)
    • Tests your ability to read and understand written English

    • 3 reading passages

    • 40 questions on various topics: academic, general interest, and social issues

    • Multiple-choice, matching, and true/false questions

    3. Writing (60 Minutes)
    • Tests your ability to write in clear, structured English

    • Task 1: Describe a graph, chart, table, or diagram

    • Task 2: Write an essay based on a point of view, argument, or problem

    4. Speaking (15 Minutes)
    • Tests your ability to speak English fluently and naturally

    • Part 1: General questions about yourself

    • Part 2: Speak on a given topic for 1–2 minutes

    • Part 3: Discussion with the examiner based on Part 2 topic

  • Score Validity

    • The IELTS Score validity is 2 years for both the General and Academic tests. This means that your IELTS score will be accepted by universities, employers, and immigration authorities for a period of 2 years from the date of your test.

    • The IELTS score validity is the same for all test takers, regardless of their nationality or where they take the test. This is because the IELTS is a standardized test, which means that it is designed to be fair and consistent across all test takers.

    • There are a few exceptions to the 2-year IELTS score validity rule. For example, some universities may require a more recent IELTS score if you are applying for a competitive program. Additionally, some immigration authorities may require a more recent IELTS score if you are applying for permanent residency.

    • If you are unsure about the IELTS score validity requirements for your specific application, you can contact us for more information.

    Exam fees

The IELTS exam fee in India is approximately ₹16,700 for both the Academic and General tests.
